I would buy.. If you buy later, the price wont be TOO much different. But then again, right now, the prices are high because its vacation season. Especially for Hawaii.. Well, Goodluck with everything (:

It's somewhat unpredictable. I'd mainly get on sites like TripAdvisor and Expedia and Orbitz and plug in your info and see what you can do via different airlines, etc. You can sometimes get better prices if your dates are a little flexible, like flying midweek instead of on a weekend. Also keep in mind that some tickets include checked baggage, some will charge extra, and stuff like that. Anyway, that doesn't sound too bad. There might be a last minute special that's better than that, but you'd also take your chances if you wait that things might go up a lot on the dates you want.

Whatever you do don't pay more than $500 for your tickets. LA to Honolulu or Kahului is always the cheapest route that you can find. Hawaiian Airlines always has deals where they'll get as low as $350 round trip. To answer your question, $476 is a good price. You might find cheaper tickets later by as much as $100, or you could pay more by as much as $100. If I were you I'd go to kayak.com and sign up for the email price notification. I do it all the time with trips back to Seattle. You choose your itinerary (dates, passengers, destination, etc.) and it'll give you the best rate available. Then you can either buy it or save it under the email notification. If the price goes below what you were quoted that day they'll send you an email notification.
