What happens if my flight is cancelled?
Ok, here we go... on January 17th, I have a flight from New York City to Los Angeles, and then on to Melbourne (all on the one ticket). What happens if my flight in New York is delayed or cancelled in New York City, and does not make the connecting flight in Los Angeles? Is Qantas liable to get me back to Melbourne when I finally get to Los Angeles? Remember, it was all bought on the one ticket. Thanks!

Not so if you are on a low cost airline, and it is more difficult to get this to happen now that tickets are usually electronic, and definitely not if a force majeure caused the cancellation.

Qantas will re-book you on to another flight. But note that if all the flights are full, you might have a long wait in LA.
