f you're an American, you don't need a passport.

Is this a joke question? LA and San Francisco are both in CA and that is in the US so you don't need any passport to travel within the US.

Did you check your brain on your last flight and forget to claim it?

You don't need a passport to fly within the US if you're a citizen, but you will need some sort of photo ID (like a driver's license) to check in.

Just go update your passport.
