How long is a flight from London,Ontario to Los Angeles, California?
How long would the flight be without stops and delays. London, ONTARIO please

4/5 hours
2 :
I would look at a site like American Airlines http://www.aa.com/aa/homePage.do and select flights to see details and cost. From London (LHR) to Ontario, CA, stopping in NY and Dallas, 22 hours.
3 :
According to Yahoo Travel, the quickest flight would be 7 hours and some change. That's a Delta/Northwest combo which would stop in Detroit. Other routings can take 12 hours or more, and involve stops in cities as diverse as Cleveland, Minneapolis, Cincinnati, Memphis, and Calgary. You might get quicker flights, and better fares, if you drove to Toronto and flew from there, eh?
4 :
about 4 1/2 hrs non stop. you will be forced to go through Customs in the Bradley terminal and that can take anywhere from 45 minutes to 2.5 hrs depending on the arriving overseas arriving flights. I cleared it in 1.5 hours last year coming from Europe. It was crowded, but I have such an innocent face, they just waved through each station see if you can get a stop either in detroit or chicago or even Oklahoma city to clear customs from one of those cities It might be less of a hassle.

How long is the flight between Grand Rapids, MI and Los Angeles

How long is the flight between Grand Rapids, MI and Los Angeles?
Im in Los Angeles with family and I was wondering how long the flight would take back to Michigan.. Grand Rapids, Michigan to be exact.
Other - United States - 1 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
An expedia search revealed that there aren't any non-stop flights between Grand Rapids and LA. So you're going to be looking at something around 6-7 hours of "travel time" (meaning from wheels up in LAX, waiting for your connecting flight, and then wheels down in Grand Rapids). Add in the minimum 2 hours needed at LAX (I'd recommend more), and you're looking at something like an 8 hour day.
2 :
If you can find a direct flight, just 3-1/2 to 4 hours. However, it is more likely that you will have to transfer somewhere like Chicago or Detroit, adding a layover of at least 45 minutes and another hour in a plane from either city to Grand Rapids.

Is 2,675 Dollars this pretty expensive for flight from Paris to Los Angeles and Return for two people

Is 2,675 Dollars this pretty expensive for flight from Paris to Los Angeles and Return for two people ?
I am going to LA this summer from Paris to visit some friends again, and i am taking United Airlines, flying from paris stop at Chicago O'hare and fly from there to LA. And Return the same thing. Would 2,675 Dollars be affordable u think ? is it a normal price ?.. thnks a lot.
Air Travel - 2 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
Whether it's affordable or not is a question only you can answer, but $1300 per ticket isn't unheard of for tickets from the west coast of the US to Europe during the summer, due to the high demand of the summer season. EDIT: It should be noted that Ian M is quoting fares on Virgin Atlantic that have rather limited applicability -- based on the information I've found, the fares are only available for purchase during certain periods in March and April, and not during the summer (which, the last I checked, begins towards the end of June just as it always does). The fare goes up by several hundred dollars on that route -- as it does on most routes between Europe and the US -- once you get into June, July and August. (Selecting random dates in July between LHR and LAX throught the VS website, in fact, returns a price that converts to about $820 US after tax -- a far cry from "about $450." Of course someone can find deals going out of alternate airports, and $820 is certainly better than paying over $1300. (The fact that he's quoting in dollars rather than euro is irrelevant.) And quoting a sale price for someone is all well and good, too, but it's hardly helpful to give someone a sale price only good in the spring when they've made it abundantly clear that they're not traveling until the summer.
2 :
In case you haven't noticed they use the € in France so why are you quoting a $ price. You could save money by travelling to London by road or rail and flying to Los Angeles with Virgin Atlantic or similar. Currently you can get Heathrow to Los Angeles return for as little as £302. That's about $450 go to http://www.trailfinders.com Ian M Edit. For those that gave a thumbs down, read the question. The asker is starting from Paris. Ian M

It takes about 2 hours from Richmond, VA, to St. Louis, MO. Then another 4 1/2 hours from St. Louis to Los Angeles. And it all depends on head winds too. So figure your trip will take between 7 to 8 hours. Don't forget to pack some snacks, and buy your drinks in the airport. Some airlines are now charging for both food and beverages by credit cards only.
3 :
A direct flight would be approx. 5 Hrs 29 Min. Hope this helps and have a great New Years!

Cheap Flights To Los Angeles From Germany

you might try LTU
2 :
LTU are on DUS-LAX. Also consider Air India on FRA-LAX, €913 return (advance purchase, stay < 30 days). Compare many sources from Germany with just 1 input via http://reisen.kelkoo.de/c-172201-fluge.html and http://www.bookingbuddy.com Among these, I think you will find the absolute best offer for Germany-LAX in late July.
3 :
The site http://www.travelbargainsites.com has a list of great, cheap travel sites.
4 :
The following link is my recommendation for nonstop flights from Düsseldorf/DUS to Los Angeles/LAX in late July: http://www.airberlin.com/ AirBerlin is Germans no. 2 behind Lufthansa. rgs. rowi4711 addition: A lot of airlines use London as a stop on the way to America. Very cheap flights from Cologne/CGN to London-Gatwick/LGW are operated by Easyjet http://www.easyjet.com or from Cologne/CGN to London-Heathrow/LHR operated by Lufthansa http://www.lufthansa.com/online/portal/lh/uk I´m sure that you will find a better price from London to Los Angeles asking an American office of one of the airlines.

Yes. Philippines Airlines flies daily between Manila to Los Angeles. Have a great trip!
3 :
Besides Philippines airlines, look into Korean Airlines. I have family in the Philippines, and fly back and forth a lot. If you can fly from Manila to Cebu, then catch a Korean Airlines flight to Los Angeles, you will be glad you did. The jets are nicer, and most times the price is cheaper. Also, if you want to, you can pick a flight on Korean Airlines with a long connection time, and see some of Seoul, Korea, before continuing on your way. Some flights have a connection time of only 2 or 3 hours, but others have connection times of 14 or 15 hours. You can visit one of their cultural attractions in that amount of time. It's like getting a free visit to Korea Go directly to each airline's website, and check the prices for yourself. Korean Airlines: www.Koreanair.com Philippines Airlines: www.Philippineairlines.com

Is $USD 1300 a good price roundtrip Los Angeles-Delhi?
I want a flight from Los Angeles to Delhi round trip, for some time this summer, and the lowest price I have found was in mid to late august for $1300 on American Airlines (even cheaper than Air India). I just want to know for some of you who may have traveled that route before, is that a good price? Should I buy it right away, or should I wait for the prices to go down. I just found another fare for $1200!

3 :
Yes, that is a fairly typical airfare on LAX-DEL. I just checked for you using ITASoftware, a travel industry flight route, availability, and price checker. It confirms your $1200 fare (actually $1201) with American Airlines via ORD (Chicago O'Hare airport). Next-cheapest is China Airlines at $1294rtn, and then Continental at $1401 USD rtn. These fares are round-trip, and include all taxes and fees if booked direct fromt the airline. Best and cheapest to book direct from http://www.aa.com I also checked it with http://www.bookingbuddy.com for you to see if it turns up anything cheaper. An air consolidator there called ATI has a small rebate on it, but for such a trip covering great distance and expense, I think it's better to book direct with the airline in case you need service on the ticket enroute.

Check if you can fly out of a different airport. Right now, with the relative weakness of the dollar, demand TO the us is higher, therefore prices are higher for flight originating overseas. A lot of the pricing depends on 1) when you plan to depart and 2) how long you plan to be there. For instance, assuming about a weeklong trip, fares through the holidays are anywhere from $1400-2000 RT. After the holidays, fares are dropping below $1000, depending on which day you depart - cheaper midweek (M, W, Th) than weekends. If you want to fly sometime in Feb-Mar, it looks like all the fares are <$1000. Based on a quick scan, Asiana looks to be your best bet. If you find an itinerary you like, you should be able to track it via YAPTA (see second link below).
2 :
See how Philippine Airlines costs. They usually are cheaper than most airlines. You can also see how much Korean Airlines is as well.

That changes hourly. Your best bet is BookMe.com first. You can compare all the reputable travel sites, and save money. Good luck!

im assuming that maybe it will . and if not you could always choose to a different airline :] also another note check for airline promotions you find them in the airlines websites ..what they are , are discounts were you could get cheaper ticket by using a code Good luck
2 :
I would check out other city closer to you. Seeing if the ticket price cheaper then that.
3 :
If you do not buy your ticket 14 days before your departure date, the price will be higher and not lower. Today is March 9 so if you travel on March 19, you purchased your ticket with less than 14 days before your departure date. Therefore the price is higher. If you change your departure date to say March 23 or 24, then the price should be different.

Sidestep.com checks pretty much every airline except Southwest and shows no non-stop flights between those two airports. Looks like it's your only choice.

www.priceline.com
3 :
www.ytb.com/awitravel Click on Book Travel $238 per person. 37 non-stop flights. they take max. of 6 people per reservation, price above based on 2 persons. 6 would be $283 per person, so 4 groups of 2, and you all book same flight, it would be cheaper
4 :
I have a little travel blog that will help you find the cheapest airfare! Use the Kayak search bar on the right side to find the cheapest airfare! I did a quick search using my Kayak bar and got $259 per person on a nonstop flight. It is going into O'Hare, though. it is a good deal, though! it includes all taxes and fees too! The blog is about travel to and around Europe, but you can use the Kayak bar to find really cheap flights anywhere in the world! http://besttravelsearch.blogspot.com

I have tried to look around for the your option and the best I am getting is $211.40 at cheapoair.com - there will be some tax but I am sure the total price wont cross your budget.... You can have a look. I have used cheapoair's service 7-8 times and again I have booked with them for my next trip - they seems to be best in terms of giving air tickets for cheap.. all the best... pal

Would a flight from Los Angeles to Tokyo be on a 747 or a 777

Would a flight from Los Angeles to Tokyo be on a 747 or a 777?
I know that either one would do the job, but with the economy the way it is, many are starting to switch to more fuel-efficient planes. When I was a child, all of my flights were on Boeings; nowadays, my three previous flights were on Airbuses. The 777 only has two engines, but they're larger than those of the 747, which has 4 engines. Also, there could be other issues such as comfort, number of passengers, etc. Plus, the hump on the 747 would probably increase drag, although at 36,000 ft, the air is so much thinner than at ground level, so it may be an irrelevance. Given all of these circumstances, would it be a 747, 777, or none of these?

1 :
DOES NOT MATTER BOTH ARE GOOD PLANES AND WILL GET YOU TO TOKYO.
2 :
It depends on the airline.
3 :
It depends on an airline. Japan airlines sometimes puts B747 or B777 on this route. B747 can carry a little bit more passengers. I live ten minutes from Chicago O'hare International Airport, and every morning, around 7 am I see either Japan Airlines' 777 or 747 flying from Tokyo.
4 :
I dont think it matters i believe the 777 is a little more fuel efficient but if the airline has more passengers they would use the 747
5 :
It can be either, but I'm telling you man the Boeing 747 is the best jetliner ever made.
6 :
Well you are right economics are really the bottom line when it comes to determine what plane is being used. The 777 is an interesting plane in that it fills up a long range capability with a large load. I would guess the 747 would be the pick for he LA/Tokyo flight because it's a popular route and would easily fill a 747ER. However a Seattle to Tokyo might be a 777, as demand may be great but not great enough to fill out a 747 consistantly. Here is another thing - depends what airline. Many US Airlines don't purchase 747 - I think Northwest/Delta and United are the only 2 airlines that actively fly 747's. Let's face a 747 is really for long distance/high volume type routes and that really doesn't work into a lot of US airline routes. The 777, because it has lower loads is more versitile it want it can be used for - as a matter of fact, American Airlines uses a 777 on a LAX-Miami route - always found that strange but using a 747 for the route makes no sense. Also, you have to factor in the engines and mechanical work that goes into the engines - airlines want to cut costs and to streamline the equipment is cheaper. What the means is that for every 747 they buy/lease, the airline has to be able to service the airplane. So unless you have multiple 747's - which means you have to a lot of long range/high volume routes - and usually only international carriers can guarantee that. International Carriers are Government owned or have significant Government assistance when they are contracting the routes. So that is one reason you see international carriers purchasing larger 747's. Especially in Asia where 1,200 to 3,000 mile routes from populous cities can be serviced by 747 because they can pack people in. As for Airbus making in roads in the commercial airliner market - well there are many reasons for that. Airbus has the luxury not really having to pay R&D cost. EU countries - led by France have subsized Airbus on all it's failures. I could go on for many paragraphs about this but I'm going hang back. However - that allows Airbus to present the product at reasonable prices. Also, they have designed fuel efficient airplanes - the A320 has done some nice things for the passengers compared to the 737's. Airbus offers airlines some great passagner entertainment. I always thought that was determined by the carrier but it seems that Boeing aircraft don't offer the same systems Airbus has - like DirecTV and things like that. Todays 747's are amazing works of engineering. The fuel effiency of this airplane is probably 20% to 25% more effiecient that 747's that were flying in the mid-70's. You mentioned "the hump" of the 747. Well, I believe it's probably more efficient with draft then the A380 - if anything less over all draft is produced on a 747 then an A380. The 787 is going to be the interesting airplane. Were talking about an airplane that can fly from New York to Hong Kong and service only 200 passengers. It's going to be a plane that an airline can use for NY to LA and also use for a route like Seattle to London - both in great comfort and efficiency. Boeing took a different approach to the future the Airbus. Airbus is putting the future on big numbers over large distances - Boeing's future is better point to point long distance flights that are cost effective. Both have questions but the A380 Market is limited and we know that they are - it's the same as 747. The 787 market is unknown - but it looks exciting.

hmmm, Fusion you should definitely check it out (I did not know they ever closed it). It is a very important remnant of Los Angeles history (which I like). It is one of the last remaining (maybe the last one ?) of many funiculars that were all over L.A. maybe 80 years ago. (Usually as a means of getting people to their homes, to shopping or to the beach from the light rail lines.)....

6 :
Depends on the airline. I'd say 7 am is fine for Jet Blue and most others. It also depends on the day, most days 1.5 hours early is fine.
7 :
You have to be at the airport 2 hours before the flight because you have to check in, then go thru inspection which takes a long time.
8 :
The airlines say 2 hours, but if you call the airport, you'll get a better answer. Both major NY airports are extremely busy in the am...but if you have an e-ticket, you may be able to show up a bit later. The TSA requirement, the very latest you can show up, is half an hour before a flight...but that may have changed. Those rules are constantly changing...Best to check with the airport directly, via email or call.

flight from Los angeles to thailand

flight from Los angeles to thailand?

Thailand - 8 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
www.travelocity.com and www.priceline.com I often flew JAL or China Air from LAX to Taipei, then change plans and onto BKK. I checked rates recently for a friend and you can get flights for less than $1000 all fees, taxes., etc. Quite a bit less if you look around.
2 :
Yes, there are flights from LA to Thailand, next question......
3 :
You need a passport - if you have not got one yet get it now! In the US some post offices act as the liaison with the passport office, some even take your photo. You do pay for a passport and the photos! You have to plan a budget, you have to figure out how much you can AFFORD to pay for hotels and other stuff. LAX and SFO are a couple of the easiest and cheapest places to fly from when in the US. From LAX you have several Asian airlines to choose from as well as the normal US based airlines. You need to provide more information. Different days could mean different prices. When you fly makes a difference in your price too. Flights during the summer months and near Christmas and New Years holidays may be higher than spring or fall. You have to decide when you want to fly out. Choose a date and then decide when you want to return to LAX. Don't go for less than 2 weeks because once you pay your ticket a few more days in a hotel is not that much more money. The plane ticket is the biggest expense unless you only stay in luxury hotels at very high prices. Using China Airlines a flight leaving LAX on May 11 for 2 weeks will cost around $801-$896. https://calec.china-airlines.com/olb/us/asp/itinerary.asp Using Delta a flight on the same day will run around $1000. http://www.delta.com/planning_reservations/index.jsp When using a website for prices you should check prices a few days before and a few days after your "best" date to see if the prices change. Prices can change every day, sometimes even when you are trying to book a flight. Some of the Asian airlines arrive in Thailand during the day, China Airlines is one. Delta will arrive close to midnight. I prefer to arrive during the day hours when bus travel is available and cheap but late arrivals at BKK are pretty normal and a meter taxi is pretty cheap. You can check the prices for Delta, Korean Airlines, China Airlines and Asiana for prices to BKK (Bangkok.) Just Google up their websites and enter your day of departure, when you return and if economy or business. A price will come back - very simple. If you have never flown to Asia before or purchased an overseas ticket you would benefit from a quick trip to a local travel agency. You can stop in at a travel agency in your town and ask about a plane ticket to Bangkok. The information you get is free!!! They may have some special prices that do not show up on websites. Start with a travel agency to get your basic information. If you get a plane ticket from a website you do need a credit card. Here are some travel forums you can look over. When you need hotel suggestions always mention how much you want to pay for your room, and don't say cheap or middle priced, etc. these terms are not the same for everyone! Read up on the TripAdvisor forum how to get a taxi or bus and currency changing (wait until you get to Thailand for the best rate.) http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowForum-g293915-i3686-Thailand.html http://www.lonelyplanet.com/thorntree/forum.jspa?forumID=51 http://forum.virtualtourist.com/forum-1943-1-Travel-Thailand-1-forum.html (You could stop in a local Thai restaurant and ask the Thai owner how he would fly to BKK. They may have some good leads on local travel agencies for Asia.) Good luck.
4 :
If I were you I would fly with evaair.com from LAX to BKK. Good airline and service, have own movies to choose even when you fly economy. My first choice when I fly from UK to BKK. for best price go to them direct and look at promotions. Alternatively go to Kaya.com or momondo.com for cheap flight to BKK. Rememberr prices can vary up to $100 depending on what days of the week you go and and your return date. Flying on a Tuesday and returning on a Tuesday usually gives best prices. Have a wonderful time in The Land of Smiles Beautiful Country with Wonderful People, Culture, Food and Breath taking Scenery. Paradise on Earth
5 :
If you want a non-stop flight, only Thai Airways has a daily non-stop flight from LAX to BKK and is an excellent airline. If you want the best service, food and in-flight entertainment, Singapore Airlines and Cathay Pacific are 5-Star airlines. If you want the cheapest, normally China Airlines and Eva Airways have the best prices. Otherwise, a few US airlines fly to BKK, but the best of them are all a notch below the worst Asian airlines. Book at least a month in advance for the best prices.
6 :
There are alot. Delta, Northwest, American, United, China Airlines, EVA air, Philippine, Korea Air, and Thai Airways all serve Thailand. Delta, Northwest and American coop with China Airlines and EVA Air, I forget the combination which with which. I have flown China Airlines and EVA air, both are good and usually the least expensive, especially China Airlines. The lowest fare is for the afternoon departures because they are not popular and arrive between midnite and 2 am in Bangkok. You will normally stop in Taipei for 2-6 hours and then onto Bangkok. If you plan on going to asia alot then pick one that serves most of asia so you can accumulate miles. I mainly fly on China Airlines, food is good and the seats are good. Each seat usually has its own TV, this is not the case for EVA Air, though I hear that is changing. The downside of having a TV at each seat is that it reduces the foot room under the seat where the electronics go. If you like or need more seating room, fly EVA Air's either Deluxe Economy seats on the 747's or Elite class seats on the 777's, they cost USD 150 more or so and you get a business class seat. Found this out by accident when I booked through Orbitz or Expedia once. In the future, when you accumulate miles, I have not been able to visit Thailand as much as I would want to. My last trip in November, I was able to reduce my airfare on China Airlines by using 14,000 of 17,000 miles that was due to expire by the end of the year. I saved USD 63 on my airfare, though I had to book directly with China Airlines. Which I don't mind doing. Check around kayak.com or sidestep.com are travel search engines. arriving late at night in Bangkok I hear is not a problem. Take a public cab downstairs and tell the coordinators know where you are going and they will make sure the cab driver knows where to go. Should only cost 150-200 baht depending on the hotel. If you are going to Pattaya, from 1000 to 1500 baht and it's about 90 minute drive. Good luck
7 :
Yep, done that. It takes close to 24 hrs, including the layover in Tokyo, so be prepared for a long one.
8 :
Yes, there are.

Help! I need to find a flight from Hawaii to Los Angeles for military son?
I've searched many airlines and web sites and find that they are still quite expensive for me. He is on active duty and was not with us last year for the holidays due to him spending the holidays in Iraq. This year he is stationed in Hawaii with his wife and daughter, and I really would like to have him home, since next year he will probably be back in Iraq. Please if anyone could help me find a cheap flight for all 3 i'd really appreciate it. May God Bless You and please continue to pray for our men and women in the war areas.

2 :
call the airlines explain to them your problem
3 :
If the flight is for a military service member and his family, there are reduced rates for active duty. These rates are not published online, you have to call the airlines directly. When you get to the automated reservations say, "operator" or "agent." Explain to them that you want to purchase tickets for an active duty service member and his family. Your son would have to show his military ID when he checks in. I take advantage of the discounts all the time. I tend to have the most luck with united or us Airways, but they all have military prices. Though, I will warn you that they only reserve a certain number of military fares per flight and sometimes that military fare is sold out. But it's always worth a try. Good luck!

What will you rate the 3 options that the flight from Brussels to Los Angeles

What will you rate the 3 options that the flight from Brussels to Los Angeles?
There is no direct flight from Brussels to LA. I don’t want to fly to LA and lay over at the European airports nor the airports of New York and Chicago. My travel agency has just proposed 3 routes to me that I lay over in one airport and with one different airline company. Option 1, United Airline and lay over at Washington D.C.; option 2, Northwest and lay over at Detroit; option 3, Delta and lay over at Atlanta. Can someone kindly analyze these options by the quality of the service of the airport and the airline company? By combining these 2 factor and tell me what will you rate these 3 options and why. I appreciate your advice. Thanks in advance.

Why didn't they tell you about American Air via JFK or O'hare? Or Continental via Newark? Or USAir via Philly? So... Of these, I'd scratch off Delta; via ATL takes longer, and the 767s they use on transatlantic routes are tired. United fly a 767 with personal TVs at each seatback in coach. Northwest fly a 757 (1 aisle, 3 seats on each side), no seatback TVs, but Detroit's airport is very new, modern, and easy to navigate. I'd probably go United for the comfort across the ocean. I have flown all 3 airlines transatlantic fairly recently (DL in January; NW in July; UA 3 years ago), and although I am a NW frequent flyer, I really like the seatback TVs to pass the time, and only United has them of the options you mentioned. Dulles Airport isn't so bad; ATL is inefficient in it's 5-tined "E" design.
2 :
i would go with delta
3 :
Of those options, definitely go with Northwest and definitely NOT with United (both the airline and Washington's airport are the absolute worst). Delta is okay but the Atlanta hub is prety bad. Northwest's service is great and Detroit is a good hub. Direct and nonstop flights aren't the same thing though

You don't give your nationality, but the Visa Waiver program requires that you have a continuing ticket to a foreign destination. You otherwise will be refused entry into the USA by the Immigration Officer. If you plan to enter the USA on a visa then carefully check the requirements as having a return or continuing ticket may be essential. The ticket does not have to be back to your home or point of origin, so you could get a ticket to L.A. and then to Canada (ex. Vancouver) or Mexico. http://www.unitedstatesvisas.gov/visiting.html

how long does a flight from paris to los angeles take

how long does a flight from paris to los angeles take?
If a plane leaves from Paris at 4:30, and is a direct flight, what time will it land in Los Angeles? (this isnt for homework! my boyfriend is flying in and we're confused about what time he actually lands!) Thanks!!!!

I went to Expedia and checked for direct filights between Paris and LA. The flight time is between 11h 30min and 11h 50min so roughly speaking about 12 hours. The time difference between Paris and LA is 8 hours so if he leaves at 4:30pm Paris time (8:30 am LA time) you can expect the filght to land around 8:00 to 8:30pm HTH
2 :
If you fly Air France nonstop, then the flight is around 11 and a half hours long. So if the flight leaves Paris at 4:30 pm, then the plane arrives in LA at 7:00 pm.
3 :
Air France and Air Tahiti Nui operate nonstop flights between CDG and LAX. A 16:30 (Paris time) departure from Paris would arrive LAX roughly 18:55 Los Angeles time. The time zone difference is 9 hours, so when it's 16:30 Paris, it's 07:30 LA. 07:30 LA time to 18:55 LA time = 11 hours and 25 minutes, so there's your answer.

Is Philippine Airlines flight Manila to Los Angeles is a good choice

Is Philippine Airlines flight Manila to Los Angeles is a good choice?

It used to be. But now that the Philippines has been downgraded to Category 2 by the U. S. authorities, I'd recommend anyone other than PAL. The downgrade means that Filipino authorities are not up to snuff as far as accountability in the aviation sector is concerned. Better to use a non-Filipino carrier until this matter is resolved.
2 :
Consider this: in Manila, PAL owns it's own terminal (Centennial Terminal 2). Terminal 1 is for all other airlines. Thus, PAL can and does protect it's arriving and departing customers from the 'extra hands' that meet the passengers at Terminal 1. Whereas Terminal 1 has it's check-in passengers coiling around shoulder to shoulder out onto the hot/humid street just to get through 1 of 3 security check points, not including the check-in desk, PAL passenger's stroll leisurely about in spacious, clean, hassle free space. For this reason, I'd give myself 1 extra hour to check-in if not on a PAL flight. The only reason for flying PAL is because of this: they own thier own terminal and share with no one. Arrival and Departure is quick, easy and hassle free. As far as safety -> would an experienced pilot fly an unsafe plane overseas (the rookies are on the domestic routes)? Probably not. However, try Cathay Pacific - better customer service. JAL is most times cheaper than PAL Spend the few extra hours and 1 connecting flight.

Not today. Check out Cathay Pacific from San Francisco to Hong Kong to Manila (return). If you are traveling soon they have a special on that will cut the price of Philippine airlines in half and has twice the quality. But hurry because the special is over at the end of April.

i would not fly with PAL for long haul flights because it lacks entertainment options.
5 :
PAL is the only airline i use when going to and from Los angeles because... 1. Mabuhay Miles accumulation 2. PAL have its own terminal in the Philippines which saves you from a lot of hassles like looong loong lines from bldg entance to security check, stress free.. you can even take a nap lying on their benches since its less crowded that you will always find a vacant seat while waiting for your flight.. 3. Direct flight from manila to LAX which can save you few hours of travel time.. Food is okay, sufficient.. you can always ask for more if you want to.. bottomless drinks from bottled water to juice to sodas to alcoholic drinks.. but PAL is a bit more expensive compared to other Airlines.. economy seats are less comfortable, its a given fact..
